Welcome new faculty member- Dr. Susanne Talcott
Dr. Susanne U Talcott, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, joined the Department of Nutrition and Food Science on April, 1, 2008 coming from the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology at Texas A&M University where she served as an Assistant Research Scientist in the area of cancer biology. Dr Talcott received a BS/MS degree from the University of Bonn, in Bonn, Germany in the area of nutrition. She obtained a Ph.D. in Nutrition at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. Dr. Talcott pursued her postdoctoral studies at the Pharmaceutics department, University of Florida before joining the Dept. of Vet. Physiology and Pharmacology.   Read More

NUTR 304 Class Raises Money for Scholarship
"The Eagle"- April 20, 2008
The Nutrition 304 class at Texas A&M University held a Reveille in the Spring dinner on April 10 at the University Club in Rudder Tower.

The event raised $2,900 toward the Mid-East Texas Dietetic Association, a local group composed of registered dietitians.

The association annually provides a scholarship to a nutrition student from Texas A&M from the department of nutrition and food science at Texas A&M through the Texas Dietetic Association Foundation.   Read More

NDA named Texas A&M Student Organization of the Year!!!
The Nutrition and Dietetic Association has been selected as the Registered Student Organization of the Year for 2007-2008 by the Department of Student Activities!

The awards committee said that they "thoroughly enjoyed reading about your accomplishments and service to the campus community. We were particularly inspired by your innovation with the Registered Dietitian Day, the numerous developmental opportunities for your student leaders, and your organization's dedication to the fulfillment of its mission."

The NDA will receive a $100 reward given by the Association of Former Students to be used for next year's activities.

The NDA will also be recognized at the All-University Awards Ceremony in Rudder Auditorium on Sunday, April 13th (Parent's Weekend).

Course Forcing
The Department of Nutrition and Food Science will be accepting forces for FSTC and NUTR courses only. Primary force forms will be available online April 10th through April 25th . Forcing is based on graduation date and forcing is not guaranteed. Students filling out a force request after April 25th will be placed on a waitlist only. See the link on the left side of the homepage.
To be forced in FSTC 326 or 327, you must go to Dr. Taylor's Office in Kleberg 310.
To be forced into BIOL 319, 320, or 351, you must go to Butler Hall Room 107.
To be forced into BICH 410 or 411 or GENE 301, you must go to Bio/Bio Room 104.
For all other non-NUTR and non-FSTC courses, you need to go to the Department in which that class is located. Thanks and Gig 'em!   Read More
